I can't quite believe that we're almost at the end of the year & just how woefully behind I am with all the plans I had for my illustration.
During 2013 we became a four & welcomed our sweet little Georgia May. We are truly besotted with our precious & very smiley addition; none more so than her incredibly proud & doting elder sister, Evelyn Rose...who also turned 5 in September & began full time education.
I miss her so much when she's at school. The house was suddenly oh so quiet & my chatty, caring, creative, song bird with her infectious smile was no longer around. I will happily admit that I'm one of those people who count down to the school holidays.
Although I kept myself fit during my pregnancy I was plagued with 3 nasty sickness bugs & at week 35 I had a bleed resulting in me being admitted to hospital & diagnosed with Streb b; potentially fatal if passed onto the baby. My labour with my first daughter was fast so we had to be on guard & get into hospital as early as possible to receive 4 hours worth of antibiotics. It was never going to happen; Georgia May arrived in one hour fifteen minutes! We had a bit of a stay in hospital whilst she received intreveanous antibiotics & checks to ensure all was well which thankfully, it was.
My mum & dad decided it was time to downsize their property so we bid a fond farewell to the home I grew up in; which felt like a tremendous wrench at the time but so right when it happened & a whole new & exciting chapter for my parents.
It's been a busy 12 months full of change & whilst I haven't necessarily achieved what I'd hoped with my artwork, my aspirations, passion & determination remain. With this in mind I'm starting a blog to record & share my journey as I (hopefully) travel into the world of freelance illustration & whilst it does feel rather like I'm talking to myself, I hope somebody somewhere will find my ramblings of interest.
